Looking for group in Austin Texas

Post by deathdealingjawa »

I recently moved to Austin Texas and have yet to find a gaming group. Is anyone near Austin Texas looking to pick up a player, or know of a good place to find a group?

Are there no game stores left there you could canvas and ask? I would suggest checking a phone book, and calling some hobby/comic stores and see if they have openings for the game you are looking for. They may even have contacts for GMs, or gaming clubs that are outside of the store to game as well. Sorry if this isn't more helpful than common sense, but I have never been to Texas before. :(

Good luck finding a group!

Check the local colleges out.

Go and find out if they have a gaming group or something.

You can usually go to the organization or club office and find if they have a "official" college one.

And if you find one, let me know. As I too am in Austin.

Haven't really been able to find a group. The organization search is cumbersome and confusing, if you find something let me know. And the hobby stores... well, one of them has a group that does one shots once a month, but that's not really what I'm looking for, and most of the time it's not a game I've ever played or own the books for.

If you find anything better, let me know. If you have 3 or so other players, I'll even DM.

Fuck, why did I waste my time over at the Paizo forums looking for players?

I'm looking to run Shackled City again around December/January. If you guys are interested, let me know. I'll be back stateside somewhere around Dec 3rd.

Currently have me, my wife, my friend in Pflugerville, and maybe the one guy in our current group who isn't a complete damn flake.

...Is that seriously the name of a city/town? If so, it's an awesome name.

My bet is it was originally built by German immigrants, they have a bunch of words starting with "Pfl-" (dict.cc says pflug means plow)

Pflugerville is in fact a German immigrant town. We have quite a few of them lying around Texas.

Ansd not a bad song, at least if you're into offbeat comic-country. (Ok, Youtube, sound)

The toll of bad transit policies and worse infrastructure—trains and buses that don’t run well and badly serve low-income neighborhoods, vehicular traffic that pollutes the environment and endangers the lives of cyclists and pedestrians—is borne disproportionately by black and brown communities."

So far I've had one tramatic experence playing with a coworker's group, and so far no luck trying the local game store (Dragon Lair). So if I am still in austin in December it looks like I will be open.

Well, my laptop dying while I'm overseas certainly didn't help. I had to remember all my favorites when using other people's stuff. The Den slipped my mind.
